The Waiting Game

My Florida mom makes me look so pasty white! The flowers we planted. Precious!

I'm scheduled for an induction Sunday at 4pm - first they'll try a prostaglandin sepository, then Monday morning (if no luck) they'll use pitocin. I'm hoping she will come without needing all that jazz, but it doesn't seem like I have much of a say. My doctor says first borns are usually tougher cuz the "trail hasn't been blazed". Oh joy!

Well, my mom got here Monday from Florida, and it's so nice to have her! She's wearing me out though!! So far she's got me walking/working out 'till everything hurts, shopping and organizing, cleaning and washing everything in the house, planting flowers, and putting old wives tales to the test. I told her I don't believe any of them, but I'm willing to try anything at this point! I only recently heard of curb stepping (tried that), tried the raspberry herbal tea, and will definitely not try drinking castor oil. Ew.

Any other suggestions?? Let's get this show on the road!!!

  1. blazing the trail? yowzers! i wish i had something useful to say. elan had her bee-bee today. maybe it's a good sign for you. i'll send good child-bearing thoughts your way!

  2. My suggestion would be sex. Worked for me:) You look so beautiful and tiny!! Can't wait to see pics of that cute baby!!

  3. ah! good luck! induction is no fun! :) but hopefully one of those old wives tales will work! i've heard that driving up and down a canyon works - something about the change in pressure. my friends who's a nurse told me that, so pack up and drive provo canyon a few times! :) good luck! can't wait to see pictures!

  4. I have to agree with Kaitlin...worked for me too :)

  5. Sex is definatly the best one to try. spicey food I have also heard, We drove up the canyon on a bumpy road and i did get contractions but then they stopped. lol I think when they are ready to come, then they come. :) Good luck!! :)
