Slow Down!

I hate being wrong. Just ask my mom.

Everyone told me to sleep when the baby sleeps (and they were right... if you don't, you never sleep). Everyone told me it takes forever to get out of the house with a baby (and again, they were right... even though I thought I could defeat that one). And the most disappointing one - everyone told me that time would fly once she got here. They too were right. It's WAY to fast! I look at Bella and she's already so different - even just 2 and a half weeks later!! She's such an angel and I honestly wonder how I ever lived without her!!

Bella had her 2 week appointment yesterday and the doctor says she's lookin' great! Here are her stats:

Weight: 9lbs 12 oz (gained 12oz) - 97th percentile
Height: 21.75 in (grew almost 2 in) - 95th percentile

Mushing Around

We had a fun photo shoot the other day! I was bored and miraculously well rested, so I thought I'd make use of my dying flowers and my willing subject :0)

Sportin' her dress from Auntie Dani!

She loves when she finds her thumb!

The highlight of today was giving Bella a sponge bath! She was such a trooper! I think she liked it this time, cuz she didn't make a peep! Her favorite was the head rub as I dried her hair. Her eyes were rolling in the back of her head - she was lovin' life. SO cute! This video was right after her bath - her face says it all!

Ty is doing well! He's a busy little bee making plans for his 3D career and of course, being a daddy! He turns to mush when he sees Bella, which definitely turns me to mush. Before ya know it, we're all just mushing around like a buncha mush-heads! I love it. Life is good.

Glimpse of Heaven

On our way!!

The Lamb and the Lion

Chillin' with daddy

We're parents!!

Proud Grandma Judy

Our darling Bells.

Our Bella love.

Wow...

Before I get into the exciting hospital details, I just need to say one thing. Wow.

Ok, fine...I need to say a few more things...

When I look at Bella, it's literally like a glimpse of heaven. I look at her and feel so much love that it's overwhelming!! I really didn't know it was possible to love someone this intensely! I feel on top of the world. Ty and I have never known such joy until she came into our lives and we are enjoying every minute!!

As for the hospital experience, I had a great one! Awesome nurses, awesome epidural, and a few laughs here and there. Here's the breakdown of events:

Sunday
600pm - admitted and began induction with cerbidil

Monday
700am - officially began induction with pitocin
800am - got epidural (yipeeeee)
130pm - dialated to a 5
300pm - dialated to a 10
500pm - started pushing
530pm - Bella arrived!!!

My legs were so numb from the epidural that after my doctor delivered Bella, one of my legs sort of slipped out of the stirrup and as the doctor was bending down, landed right on his head! I will never forget the look of surprise on his face as he slowly stood up, glasses crooked and halfway down his face, and his hospital hat covering his eyes - I wasn't sure if I should apologize for my clumsy, numb leg, or just laugh! It was memorable to say the least.

Bella is doing so well!! She latched right on and is a great eater! She burps like a man and everything she does make us ga-ga. The first night home we weren't exactly sure what we were doing, so we were pretty exhausted the next day. Last night was much better though. We got some tips on what might help and we actually slept a few consecutive hours!! Yipee!!

My mom went home this morning...She has been the biggest help these past 10 days!!! I will miss her and can't wait to have her back next month!! Thank you so much mom! Ty and I are so grateful for you!! :0)

We are so happy! We love our little Bella!

The Waiting Game

My Florida mom makes me look so pasty white! The flowers we planted. Precious!

I'm scheduled for an induction Sunday at 4pm - first they'll try a prostaglandin sepository, then Monday morning (if no luck) they'll use pitocin. I'm hoping she will come without needing all that jazz, but it doesn't seem like I have much of a say. My doctor says first borns are usually tougher cuz the "trail hasn't been blazed". Oh joy!

Well, my mom got here Monday from Florida, and it's so nice to have her! She's wearing me out though!! So far she's got me walking/working out 'till everything hurts, shopping and organizing, cleaning and washing everything in the house, planting flowers, and putting old wives tales to the test. I told her I don't believe any of them, but I'm willing to try anything at this point! I only recently heard of curb stepping (tried that), tried the raspberry herbal tea, and will definitely not try drinking castor oil. Ew.

Any other suggestions?? Let's get this show on the road!!!

40 Weeks - whaaat??

Look at that belly button go!!! Whew!!! If I'm not careful, I might take an eye out with that thing!!! This little bulge of mine is done - well, mom is done. Everything is definitely uncomfortable and I'm so so ready to be able to bend down without doing the frog pose and laugh without feeling like I'm going to wet myself! And of course, I'm most excited to meet this little bundle already!!! Everything is ready, my mom comes tomorrow morning, so let the labor begin!!!
