Sunkissed and Happy

What an amazing week!! Ty and I had this entire week off of work and spent it with my family in Florida. We couldn't have asked for better weather either! High in the 80's and low in the 60's. It was amazing.

At my grandpa's beach house for Christmas, we embarked on many adventures! Ty found some cool dead crabs that he used to scare all the girls (naturally right?); I walked the beach many times each day with grandma, mom, and my sisters searching for the rarest or the most beautiful shells; We ate like kings each night with some yummy dinner, followed by a bonfire on the beach; We fished off the dock, watched sunsets, watched Judge Judy (our family favorite), and relaxed in the hammocks. What more could we ask for for Christmas?! - Family and the beach. I would say we were pretty blessed this year!

20 Weeks!

I'm halfway there and feeling great!! Woo hoo!!
I am just beginning to feel it bonk around in there. No visible movement from the outside, but it's definitely in there.
Oh yeah - by the way, it is a GirL!
I still don't realize how my life is going to change. Some days I even forget she's in there! I think once I get bigger it will become more real. We are so eXciTeD!!!
Be on the look out for more ultrasound pics! The doc says everything is looking normal - except for her gigantic head! It's gotta be in the 150th percentile or something... Her dang parents. Haha. Just kidding!

17 weeks

Time is flying and I feel the stretching and the growing! I'm not exactly showing with clothes on, but I can sure tell by the way I feel that everything's getting all squished on the inside.
I'm excited for a baby bump! - proof that I'm not just making this all up!!

Above is how I feel ...

... And this is the way things are lookin' so far.

Not as weird...

One word has described pregnancy so far - weird.
But tonight I decided it's taking on a new bunch of words - not as weird as I thought.

My belly is just starting to poke out - like I can't suck it in
and make it look how it did before kind of thing... And it's actually not as horrible as I imagined. It definitely has it's discomforts, but for once I looked in the mirror and thought how excited I was.

Typically my mind is consumed with selfish thoughts like, "oh gosh, now my pants aren't gonna fit my fat butt", or "before I know it I'll be waddling like the rest of 'em", etc... Feeling a little pessimistic about it all to say the least.

But for the first time I admired my little growing belly tonight and thought,
"aww, there's a little baby in there".
Then it all seemed worth it.

14 WEEKS

Holy toledo batman... so I thought I was only around 10 weeks or so - man I was way off.
I'm 13 weeks and 5 days. INSANE!

So I obviously went to the doctor today for the first time, and it was amazing. I totally freaked out. Hearing the heart beat, seeing the big ol' noggin it inherited from me, and the hobbit feet it got from Ty... Unreal. Apparently you can know the gender this early.
Who REALLY knows until it's actually here though right??

So... the doctor says it was pretty clearly a GIRL which I hardly believed
with all the brothers Ty has. But I was still freakin' out at the thought.
So I guess we'll see when I have my next visit in a month!!

It's FINALLY REAL!!!!

9 Weeks-ish

Well, I'm not exactly sure if 9 weeks is accurate. I will go to the doctor next week to find out an official due date, etc... Yay!

I don't really feel like I'm pregnant. When I look at pictures of where the baby is in development, it just feels like it's someone else's reality. I'm sure it won't take long for that to change.

Craving this week: Bratwurst w/ mustard, ketchup, and relish.

FLORIDA!

The most magical place on earth - Discovery Cove!
We swam with dolphins, tropical fish, fed sting rays, and met a sloth (on right) named Lucky. How COOL!! I was like a little kid in a candy store. I love animals!!
Our little Cabana (on left) was so private and relaxing!

At the Chocolate Factory with the family.
My friend and host Yasmin made it so much fun for us all!!
By the end of the night we didn't want to look at another piece of chocolate for a long time!

And what trip is complete without a visit to the Apple store?

More NY Pics

Beautiful Watkins Glen State Park

Garlic Knots from Tys' favorite restaurant in the mission.
YUM!

Grand Central Station! Amazing!!

PREGO!

NO, not like the tasty spaghetti sauce...Prego like the BABY kind! AHH!!! I found out a month ago, so I'm guessing I'm around 8 weeks or so.

It's not real yet. I don't think nausea and constant snacking really count as being pregnant ya know? This is ridiculous...but it's all part of the package I guess.

It could always be worse...like maybe a woman's gestation period could be only 3 months. Now that would DEFINITELY be worse, because I'm DEFINITELY not ready to be a mom in 1 month. God knew what he was doing with the whole 9 month thing. Way to go.

SO yeah, Ty and I are excited to say the least!

On our way to New York!

Well, we're still here in New York and having a blast! Ok, so I'd be lying if I left it at that, because I think we have all had our moments of impatience.
One small car, 5 people...yeah, that just adds up to trouble, right? It's one of those trips you will look back at and just laugh, ya know?

So, we visited New Jersey the first few days to see Dani's people and now we're in New York visiting Ty's old mission areas. It's so BEAUTIFUL out here!! The weather has been perfect. In the low 70's and overcast. We visited Ithaca where we ate yummy food at a farmer's market, then saw Cornell University! So old and historic! Now we're all pooped chillin in our Comfort Inn. I love traveling, but I sure can't wait to sleep in my own bed again! We're off to see some more beautiful scenery tomorrow! Prepping my camera and my patience right now! Wish me luck!

Our Fish

This is our cat.

His name is Fish.

He entertains us for hours!

And looks funny when he stretches.

Fish likes hide and seek.

And enjoys a cat nap here and there.

Fishy lives on the edge.

Are we a little obsessed? Yeah, maybe a little.

Phlebitis!!!!

So basically i've got an inflamed vein caused by a clot - and what better place to get one of these than my ARM PIT! sweet huh. just thought i'd share that with everybody. don't you worry, it's 'superficial'. you know, like phony, not real, it has no depth. in other words, nothing to be worried about. but it's still really cool!! it looks like a worm and feels hard. apparently it can be caused by prolonged inactivity, little or no exercise, obesity, smoking, injury, or pregnancy. you know, since i am a chain smoker and weigh 300 lbs, i guess i have a problem. better hit the gym and smokers anonymous! does smokers anonymous even exist? hmm... and just for the record, not pregnant.

Officially Ghetto

You know your neighborhood is getting ghetto
when there's a shopping cart just chillin' like it belongs there.
Did someone confuse our lawn for Wal-Mart?
